The Michelia has such a beautiful aroma, despite their flowers being insignificant. They’re like cherry liquors to my heightened sense of smell, with the scent of fruit loops thrown in. My experience is living in a warm area; my port wine magnolias benefit from the morning sun. I have a neat row of twelve along the back of my home. Since being re-planted, they grow like topsy in trough pots and are most pleasing to the eye. I love the leaf shape of the Michelia, its crispness, texture, and light green hue.
